Time for a Happy Birthday

Hi!  I have a card to share today that I made using
the Friday Freebie today over at

I had created the background paper a month or so ago using Gesso and Distress inks then embossed it with my clock embossing folder.
It has a lot of texture to it that does not show up in the picture.
I was so excited when I seen this next Freebie image from Scrapper's Delights.

The watch I colored using my Copic markers and then covered the glass with
Crackle Accents so it has a cracked look to it. wish it would have shown up.
The sentiment I made using my Cricut Explore and had the Explore write it.

So hop on over the Scrapper's Delights and grab your image.
Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Cupcake

Hello, hope everyone is having a great week so far.
One of the places I like to play along when I can is
Tuesday Morning sketches.  Today I have a card to share using
the sketch this week.

Here is the card I created.
This card opens in the center but stuck it closed to take the picture.
When I put the card together I accidentally put my pattern paper on the wrong
side from what I originally intended :/  but had to go with it anyways.
The pattern paper is from DCWV Sweet Stack.  The left-hand panel I embossed then covered it with a piece of what is left after they cut out
the sequin, I know it has a name but I can't remember it.
The center square I cut using my Explore and them embossed it with
the Cuttlebug folder Happy Birthday.   The center circle I cut using a
Gina Marie stitched die and then stuck the rhinestone cupcake from Basic Grey that I have had forever.   I actually designed this card around it
so I would finally use it.

Now onto the birthday wishes stamp in the corner.........did I
ever tell you how much I LOVE my MISTI!
And for a couple reason regarding this stamp.
This is a CTMH stamp that corresponds with a Cricut cut from
the Artiste cartridge.  Sometimes it is a  struggle to get the stamp lined
up perfectly with the cutout, using the MISTI makes it so easy.  Let's see if I can
explain this.  I used my Explore to cut out the piece to the correct size,
then I placed the negative part from the cut out into my MISTI and lined up the
stamp in that negative area, closed the lid and picked up the stamp.  I placed the cut out back into the negative stamp and stamped it!  Perfectly aligned.
You know how hard it is sometimes to get a perfect impression with
the solid stamps like this one is.  Well using the MISTI that is no problem
because it stamps in the exact same spot everytime.  I think I inked this one up 3 times to get a nice even solid stamp.  Pretty cool huh?

I know it is late in the game but they are giving away a new
Mini-MISTI each day in May so you have a few days left to enter.
Head on over and see if you can win one.  Check it out
If you really want to see how this thing works there are
many videos on the tips and tricks of using it on YouTube.

Enjoy the Day

Hello, hope everyone is having a fabulous day.

If you have been following me you know that I have renewed
my love of coloring.  Not because of the coloring book rage
but because I was introduced to Alyce at
Kit and Clower.  Here coloring classes are top notch
and she is a fabulous teacher/instructor.   I am so glad
I was directed to her website by a friend of mine at
the CraftingCircle.  I was so much invested in my Copics and colored
pencils that now I feel as if I am getting some use from
my investment.

So since I am coloring more I have found more awesome digital images
to color.  This one is from Julia Spiri .

I have several of her images but this was the first time I colored one.  I wanted to keep it simple with just the two colors.
I made it into a card following the sketch this week at Mojo Monday
The papers are from an older K&Company paper stack.

Thank you for stopping by.

Fruity Baby Watermelon

Hi, hope everyone has some great plans for
the weekend.
I will be in the kitchen tomorrow with my
Navy grandson cooking, he loves to cook just like I do.

Today I have a card to share with you that follows the sketch
this week at Tuesday Morning Sketches
The image I colored up is from the new Fruity Baby collect over
at Scrapper's Delights.  Make sure you head on over and check out the
other fruity babies.
I colored her using my watercolors and Prisma pencils for the
hair and skin.  The background paper I have had in my stash for a long
time and thought it was perfect for this image.

Well thanks for taking the time to stop by and take a peek at
my blog.

A Tribute to Prince

Hello, I made this card a couple weeks ago but
didn't get a chance to post it.
When Prince passed away Lisa at Bloobel Stamps drew up this
image and offered it for free as a tribute to him.

Her stamps are very quirky but they really do grow on you the more you see them all colored up, at least they did with me.
I couldn't decide if I wanted to use purple or orange so I used both.
I colored him using my Copic markers.  The paper is
from a CTMH paper pack and the sentiment is a stamp combination from
Hero Arts.  I used a circle embossing folder on the orange
panel.
My daughter was a big Prince fan growing up so I think
I will give her think for her birthday later this year.

Well, thanks for stopping by to take a peak.

You're a Star

Hello, it's Friday Freebie day over at
Scrapper's Delights and it's a cute one.

You can grab yours at the

So here is what I came up with, the little extra twist on this
challenge to make it have something to do with outer space.

I had my Cricut Explore print and cut out both the Super Hero Boy
and the teleporter.  I colored them using my Copic markers.
The background paper I created using Distress Inks on watercolor
paper.  Then I flicked silver paint on it for more dimension.
I cut out several star from glitter paper.  The sentiment is a stamp
from CTMH that I heat embossed with silver embossing powder.
This really looks a lot better in person.  The colors are prettier.

Thanks for stopping by and make sure you head on over and pick
this Super Hero Boy freebie.

Beautiful Day

Hi, I am back to share a card with you that I
made following a sketch. (of course LOL)

In fact, it fits into 2 sketches from different challenges.

I thought this card looked like a beautiful day so that is why chose
to use that Rubbernecker sentiment stamp.
I cut the bottom piece from a piece of CTMH paper using my
Sugar Pea Designs die.  I love this die.
The sun I printed and cut using my Cricut Explore and then covered the
glasses with Crystal Lacquer.  I cut the clouds from pearl paper so they have
a sheen to them.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you are having a beautiful day.

Watercolor Background Birthday

Hi, it's Friday, hope everyone has some fun plans for
the weekend.  I am making a pot of spaghetti sauce or
gravy as we called it growing up.
It is so much nicer to sit around at home with family and visit
instead of the hustle and bustle of going out to dinner
for Mother's Day, so this way most of the cooking will be done
before Mother's Day.

I have a card to share with you today that was inspired by
Pinterest and my Stamp of Approval box.
I created the background on watercolor paper using my Distress Inks
re-inkers.  I love the soft pastel colors of the background.
Before I put the inks on the paper I stamps using the GinaK stamps from my SOA box and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.
I stamping the sentiment using a GinaK stamp then added some Cloud9 Rain dots to finish it off.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers out there.

All Dressed Up Fairy

A couple of weeks ago this imaged was
shared on the Kit & Clowder Facebook page.
This adorable image is from All Dressed Up.

I just received my set of Faber Castell Polychromo pencils so I
had to try them out and color her up.  I LOVE my pencils and am very glad I got them as I teetered on it for quite some time.
I embossed the pink paper using a Cuttlebug folder and cut the
centers out with my Spellbinders cutting the pink piece a bit larger so I would
have a frame around her.  I added some flowers I had in my stash and
that was enough to finish it off.  I will add a sentiment
when I decide how I will use it.

Thanks for stopping to take a peak.

Thinking of You

I have a super quick card to share today.

I recently got a bunch of new Stampin Up stamp sets
and got a few that had some textures and backgrounds.
This card was made using the "You Got This" set.

It was all stamped using Distress Inks.  The background stamp I inked up
and stamped off and then stamped so it would be lighter.
The flowers I colored using my waterbrush and
Distress Inks.    The stamp is a Stampin Up stamp.

Thanks for stopping by would love to read you comments.

Stamp of Approval Card

Hi everyone.  Last week I received my first Stamp of Approval
box from Catherine Pooler.  It is awesome, so
much and goodness in there.
They sell out pretty quick so if you interested head
over and sign up to get notice when the next ones comes out.  They
are released quarterly I believe.

So here is the card I created with some of the things in the kit.
It is a simple card but makes a statement I think,
The chevron shapes are stamps from Catherine Pooler Designs that she
created just for this SOA kit.  I stamped it using my
MISTI and Distress Inks Carved Pumpkin and Peacock Feathers.
The you is a dies by Cas-ual Fridays that was also in the box.
I finished it over using a corner die from
